![]() ![]() Who was going to be his forever mom was willing to adopt him, but her boyfriend was a clear risk, so we decided to keep him. UPDATE: Houdini has become a foster fail. He loves to play and is a destructively cute force of nature. He's eating properly and is slowly adapting to drinking by himself (he wildly prefers his beloved syringe though) His fluff is growing back and his stripes are already pretty notable. He also stole our hearts, everyone's, and we decided that if his forever momma fails we'll keep him, no questions asked. Since then, he has made friends with the family dog, Bruno, has been adopted by our female SIC Karma, and our male SIC Leon keeps a keen eye on him, despite being a lone introvert. ![]() ![]() We started fostering him and got him a forever home. Once we knew the kitten would make it we called him Houdini, because he escaped death, and then posted him on r/illegallysmolcats with hopes of getting advice on rising him, since we never took in such a young lad. We took him to the neighbourhood's vet, and started a long healing routine, no being sure if he would survive until the start of the second week. When we picked him up, we realized that his underside (belly, chest, paws and legs) were peeling and he had a lot of bruises. In July of 2022, my sister and I found a really small kitten in the streets, clearly crying in pain and too young to even walk properly. ![]()
